Moffett M5000

Forklifts and warehouse trucks

The Moffett M5000 is a truck mounted forklift designed to be carried on the back of a delivery lorry and detached for unloading at sites lacking fixed lifting equipment. It has a capacity of around 5000 lb and runs on a compact diesel engine with a three wheel or 3x3 chassis layout allowing it to manoeuvre in tight yards. It is one of Moffett's smaller mainstream models used widely in building materials and general distribution.

Check the condition of the mounting frame and pins that attach it to the lorry, as well as hydraulic hoses and cylinders for wear. Hour meters, battery condition, tyres and mast chains should be inspected, along with the history of servicing since these machines often work hard in outdoor conditions.
